About Us

History - The Greater Binghamton Association of REALTORS®, Inc. is a trade association of professionals in real estate and related industries united to provide excellence in real estate services to consumers and each other.

A member Association of the National Association of Realtors and the New York State Association of Realtors, the Association was formed in 1918 and chartered by the National Association of REALTORS® in 1920.

Mission

The mission of the Greater Binghamton Association of REALTORS®, Inc. is to advance the success of our Members, the integrity of our Profession and the prosperity of our Community.

Community Service

The Association has a rich tradition of member dedication and volunteerism to improve and promote the quality of life for all in our community. We frequently work in cooperation with other service organizations to broaden the scope of these efforts.

NAR and HUD have entered into a voluntary partnership, the Fair Housing Partnership Agreement, to take a proactive approach to fair housing issues, concerns, and solutions. Our orientation program includes detailed instruction on the latest laws and proper conduct on the part of a licensee. We print articles and notices in various local publications informing the public of our support for equal opportunity in housing and advertising.

Member Services

As stated in our Mission, our core responsibility is to support our Members. To this end, we provide a number of services including access to our Multiple Listing Service, a variety of courses and certifications through our Real Estate School, support for pro-real estate legislation through our Government Affairs Committee, Business Luncheons for networking and sharing of timely information in support of your business, and industry updates via this website, MLS Bulletins, email and our Facebook page.

Professional Standards

Members of the Greater Binghamton Association of REALTORS®, Inc. subscribe to the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®, which promotes the highest standards of conduct in the real estate profession. The Grievance and Professional Standards committees oversee enforcement of the Code of Ethics and provide member arbitration services and a forum for prompt resolution of disputes.
